The INSIZE Digital Arc Radius Calipers are designed to measure the radius of an arc — including arcs that form less than half a round — directly on the workpiece, without templates, radius gauges or a surface plate setup.
The instrument uses three-point contact: two outer legs locate the arc and the digital slide reads the resulting radius straight from the LCD. With a resolution of 0.01mm (0.0005") and a measuring range of 5-150mm (0.2-6") on model 1189-150B or 5-200mm (0.2-8") on model 1189-200B, the caliper covers the concave and convex radii commonly found on shafts, fillets, cylinders, dies, moulds and formed sheet metal parts.
Accuracy is ±0.05mm for the 150mm model and ±0.07mm for the 200mm model. The stainless steel body provides the rigidity and corrosion resistance needed for daily shop use, and the three-button layout handles on/off, zero and mm/inch switching. The display switches on automatically when the digital unit is moved, and automatic power-off conserves the CR2032 battery.
Two data options are offered. The standard versions (1189-150B, 1189-200B) provide a data output port that works with the optional wireless transmitter 7315-25 plus a receiver. The WL versions (1189-150BWL, 1189-200BWL) have wireless built in and need only the matching receiver 7315-2/3/6/7/8/9 to send readings to your collection system.
Overall lengths are 263mm (150mm model) and 313mm (200mm model), with a leg thickness of 16mm and a leg spread of 65mm and 85mm respectively.
Please note: these calipers are non-waterproof and should be kept away from coolant, water and heavy moisture.
Digital Arc Radius Calipers — Measure Arc Radius Directly at the Workpiece
Measuring the radius of a fillet, cylinder, die or formed part usually means hunting for the right radius gauge, or building a setup on a surface plate. The INSIZE Digital Arc Radius Calipers remove that step: place the tool on the arc, close the legs, and read the radius in millimetres or inches straight off the display.
Built for Arcs Below Half Round
The measuring geometry is purpose-designed for arcs that form less than half a round — exactly the case where a radius gauge gives you a "close enough" answer instead of a number. The two outer legs establish contact with the arc while the digital slide reads the resulting radius, giving you a repeatable measurement on convex and concave surfaces alike.
