The INSIZE Digital Gear Tooth Calipers are precision measuring instruments built for accurate gear tooth thickness inspection on the shop floor and in the inspection room. Using the pitch circle as the reference, the caliper locates the tooth height and then measures tooth thickness directly — a method suited to gears with a tooth height greater than 1 mm.
The tool combines a digital height-setting unit with carbide-tipped measuring jaws. The carbide tips resist wear and hold their edge through repeated contact with hardened gear flanks, so accuracy stays stable over long production runs. A resolution of 0.01 mm (0.0005") gives clear, repeatable readings on the LCD display.
Operation is deliberately simple: three buttons handle zero, on/off and mm/inch switching, and the display powers up automatically as soon as the digital unit is moved. Automatic power-off preserves battery life, and a standard CR2032 cell keeps the instrument running.
The body is made of stainless steel for rigidity and corrosion resistance. Two size ranges are available — M1-24 mm (1181-M25A) and M5-45 mm (1181-M50A) — each with ±0.03 mm accuracy on both height and thickness measurement and ±0.04 mm total accuracy.
For data collection, choose the data interface version (1181-M25A / 1181-M50A) and pair it with the optional wireless transmitter 7315-22 and receiver, or choose the built-in wireless version (1181-M25AWL / 1181-M50AWL), which needs only the matching receiver 7315-2/3/6/7/8/9. Note that these calipers are non-waterproof and should be kept away from coolant spray and moisture.
