Description

Anesthesia, or Anaesthesia from Greek an-“without” and aisthçsis- “sensation”) has traditionally meant the condition of having sensation (including the feeling of pain) blocked or temporarily taken away. This allows patients to undergo surgery and other procedures without the distress and pain they would otherwise experience.

Another definition is a “reversible lack of awareness”, whether this is a total lack of awareness (general Anesthesic) or a lack of awareness of a part of the body such as a spinal anesthetic. Anesthesia differs from analgesia in blocking all sensation, not only pain.

Generally we can say that Anesthesia is used to ensure that patient does not feel pain during surgery and also provides the surgeon with favorable condition for the work.

Scientech 2363 Basics of Anesthesia Machine provides detailed information about operating procedure of Anesthesia before or during operation, also it is capable of producing full technical details of depth of Anesthesia (DoA) and its measurements.

Features

  • Two separate non interchangeable color coded cylinders for oxygen (O ) and nitrous oxide (N O) supply (filled 2 2 with air for laboratory  experiments) 2
  • Two separate regulators with pressure gauge indicators (150Kg/Cm )
  • Pin index type yoke oxygen and Nitrous Oxide indication cylinder
  • Two gases rotameter (Bobbin type)
  • Circle absorber system
  • Humidifier system (without soda lime)
  • Dextrose (5%) provided for emergency glucose supply to the patient
  • Quick flush valve
  • Scavenging system (without Charcoal)
  • Patient Breathing circuit (Bain circuit)
  • Patient connectors (Oxygen mask)
  • Goldman Halothene and Ether Vaporizers (not in function, because it is harmful for students at educational level)
  • Resuscitator (Ambu Bag)
  • Human Dummy
  • Basics of Anesthesia Machine with software for full understanding of Depth of Anesthesia (DoA)

Scope of Learning

Study of patient physiological parameters in stage:

  • One of Anesthesia (Analgesia)
  • Two of Anesthesia (Voluntary excitement)
  • Three (Plane one – light plane) of Anesthesia (Surgical Anesthesia)
  • Three (Plane two – Medium plane) of Anesthesia (Surgical Anesthesia)
  • Three (Plane three – Deep plane) of Anesthesia (Surgical Anesthesia)
  • Three (Plane four – very deep plane) of Anesthesia (Surgical Anesthesia)
  • Four (Bulbar paralysis) of Anesthesia (Respiratory arrest and cardiac failure, coma).

Note :

  • All the experiments can be performed using dummy provided with the Anesthesia machine Trainer for understanding the operating procedure. All the physiological information of patient is provided by software.
